This woodland garden was created by the late Cubby Acland, a regional agent for the National Trust until 1973. It covers approximately 8 acres and
half of which is located on a steep hill overlooking Windermere. Ridges, valleys and waterfalls characterise the land. The garden is home to rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and camellias. Native bilberries find the habitat much to their liking.
Next to the garden is Skelghyll Woods where there are walks and access to the fells beyond. |
