To get to Dodd Wood, take the A591 out of Keswick towards Bothel. The forest entrance and car park are on the right, opposite Mirehouse. Towering high above Bassenthwaite Lake, the area around Dodd Wood provides unrivalled views from Derwent Water to the south and to the hills of Dumfries and Galloway. These are especially enjoyed by those prepared to make the journey to the summit of the Dodd. Dodd Wood offers attractive and varied waymarked trails from a central car park with picnic areas, cafe and toilets.
