The Windermere Ferry service is provided by the Highways Department of Cumbria County Council.
The ferry departs from Ferry Nab, Bowness at approximately 06:50 (08:50 on Sundays) and every 30 minutes until 20:50. Departure from Ferry House, Far Sawrey is at around 07:00 (09:00 on Sundays) and every 30 minutes until 21:00. Unlike any other ferry in the Lake District, the Windermere Ferry can take cars as well as foot passengers. Runs all year except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. |
