The Museum takes you back in time to discover what rural folk did to entertain themselves before the invention of television and computers. The displays reveal so much about how different life was for our Lakeland ancestors, who lived and worked in relative isolation in the days before the arrival of the railways and motorcars. Visit the reconstructed study of Arthur Ransome, the famous author of Swallows and Amazons, based in the Lake District.
