Hoad Monument
Ulverston, English Lake District, Cumbria - England, UK
Hoad Monument is Ulverston’s most famous landmark. Erected in 1850 upon Hoad Hill, it commemorates Sir John Barrow, a founder member of the Royal Geographical Society and an intrepid explorer.

The Hoad Monument - also sometimes referred to as the Sir John Barrow Monument - is a replica of Eddystone Lighthouse. It is open to the public during the summer, if the flag is flying, and is well worth a visit if only for the magnificent views of Morecambe Bay and the Lake District.
