Haig Colliery Mining Museum, Whitehaven, is an educational and informative developing museum based on the local industrial and social mining history. The museum houses the world’s only Bever Dorling & Co. Ltd. winding engines of its kind, one of which is restored and operated daily. See one of the two remaining headgears in Cumbria. The museum has something for all ages. Free entry. Open Monday to Thursday, 9.30am - 4.30pm.
